What PST File Comprises of

In Outlook PST files are used to store the items mentioned below:

PST files stores all accounts and configuration settings including the following:

  • Forms
  • Views
  • Alerts
  • Auto Archive settings
  • Rules

PST file can easily store the following:

  • Outlook data files
  • Drafts folders
  • Inbox and other folders
  • Junk E-mail folder
  • Sent Items folder
 

Folder for “Deleted Items”: PST has one folder called “Deleted Items” which contains all deleted items. If folder gets deleted, it will be shown as a sub folder of deleted items. In case you empty the deleted items folder then all the items and subfolders from the deleted Items folder will get deleted on the permanently.
