About Personal Folders
It might be the case that you have more than one folder which is displaying as Personal Folders in your Folder List. The default name of the .pst file that you see in the Folder List is Personal Folders.

Follow the Steps to Remove Folder from Folder List
- Click ‘Email Accounts’ on the Tools menu
- Click “View” or change existing e-mail accounts
- Click “Next”
- In the new delivered e-mail to the following location list, choose the location where new files to be delivered. If you don’t choose the location for your .pst file, you might see two entries for Personal Folders files. Select the one out of two that is not highlighted. When you click the arrow to show the list of files, click the second Personal Folders entry in the list.
- Click “Finish”
- Exit and then restart Outlook
Steps to Change the Display Name for .pst File? To Change the display name for a .pst file, follow the below mentioned step-by-step process:
- In the Navigation Pane, first right-click ‘Personal Folders’
- Then, click ‘Properties’ for "Personal Folders"
- Then click ‘Advanced’
- Now, in the Name box, type a name that you find to be meaningful, such as Old Outlook.
- Change the name of the folder, but do not change the file name of the .pst file.
- In the Filename box, you can also see where the .pst file is stored
- Click ‘OK’ twice and you see a top-level folder called Old Outlook in the Folder List in the Navigation Pane
